This week, a London wedding will draw plenty of attention when Vaneesha, the daughter of Lagos billionaire Bhagwan Mahtani ties the knot with Virraj Jatania. The three day celebration will see some of the most high profile NRIs from all the over world, while India’s finest couturiers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have been roped in to style and design the glittering celebrations.

Since the Mahtanis are originally from Churchgate in Mumbai, many of their friends in Mumbai received the invite, a contemporary-traditional card designed by Delhi’s Vivek Sahni. The wedding functions include a fun-filled Sangeet at Park Lane Hotel, the Pheras at One Mayfair, and the finale Reception at The Grand Room of Grosvenor’s House Hotel. According to friends, the Sindhi-Gujarati ceremony will be an elegant affair crafted with the ‘luxe’ handwork of ‘The Boys’ (Abu Jani Jani Sandeep). While some of the crème de la crème of business and society are flying into London, this is not expected to a bollywood extravaganza as B-town biggies haven’t been invited to perform there.

Vaneesha has lived between London and Lagos. Her father Bhagwan Mahtani runs the Lagos Headquartered Churchgate Group, which has interests in Real Estate and Hotels. Virraj is the co-founder of ‘Pockit’, the prepaid card company he runs with his father and brother Yuvraj. Jatania senior (Bharat aka Danny Jatania) and his three brothers earlier owned the cosmetics/ personal care company Lornamead Group. Named as one of the richest Indian families in Britain after the Mittals and the Hindujas, the Jatania brothers shot into the limelight when they bought iconic British brand ‘Yardley’ for an estimated $100 million from US giant Procter & Gamble.
